Scope
This notice describes the Heat Pump Water Heater Savings Calculator, exact-model owner-review forms, and the public pages operated at bestheatpumpwaterheater.com. It does not describe third-party websites reached through source links.
Calculator data
The calculator runs in the visitor’s browser. The HPWH Consumer Platform plugin does not transmit or store calculator inputs, results, names, email addresses, telephone numbers, street addresses, contact details, or lead information.
The calculator does not create its own cookies, fingerprint visitors, or collect quote requests. Its quote-intent control displays non-collecting guidance on the page and does not submit a lead. If a visitor separately allows Google Analytics, the site does not send calculator answers, results, rebate ZIP/provider entries, household choices, installation answers, comparison selections, prices viewed, or contact details to Analytics.
Owner review submissions
An exact-model buying guide may offer an optional form for a visitor to submit an owner report for editorial moderation. The form asks only for the exact product size and model selected from the guide, a one-to-five rating, a broad ownership-period choice, free-text product experience, and confirmation that the report concerns that selection. WordPress stores those fields with the exact guide identifier and moderation status. The form does not ask for or create a reviewer name, email address, telephone number, account, login, profile, IP-address field, user-agent field, cookie, or browser fingerprint.
Visitors are instructed not to include names, contact details, street addresses, order or account numbers, installer names, or links in report text. The plugin rejects common contact, link, address, and order-number patterns before storage. A moderator must review a pending report before it can appear publicly and must leave it unpublished if it contains personal information or does not concern the exact model. Approval means only that the report met the publishing rules; the site does not independently verify an owner’s claims.
Approved reports may display the exact product size and model, rating, ownership-period label, report text, and approval date on the applicable product-line guide. They remain clearly separated from retailer and manufacturer review evidence and are not added to external-source ratings, review counts, editorial synthesis, or product-rating structured data. If there are no approved reports, no empty first-party review section is published.
Owner-review form values are not sent to Google Analytics. The ordinary hosting and security processing described below still applies when a visitor requests or submits any page.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is optional. The Google tag is absent and the site sends no request to Google Analytics before a visitor selects Allow analytics cookies. The site remembers allow or decline in one browser-local preference so the choice applies across the site. A visitor can reopen Analytics settings in the footer at any time.
After approval, Google Analytics may set first-party _ga and _ga_* cookies containing persistent client and session identifiers. Those cookies let the site count visitors, sessions, and page views. Google also receives the same-origin page path and page title, which may identify the manufacturer, product review, or exact-model page viewed. It receives ordinary device and network data needed to provide Analytics, which may include an IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, and approximate location. The site removes URL query strings, URL fragments, and credentials, and reduces cross-origin referrers to their origin before transmission.
The only custom site-use events currently permitted are value-free installation-planner and buying-path milestones. Their payload is limited to the event name, schema version, and generic component name. The site does not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, user IDs, user-provided data, calculator or owner-review form values, owner-review text or ratings, rebate ZIP/provider entries, household choices, installation answers, comparison selections, prices viewed, URL queries, or URL fragments.
Advertising storage, ad user data, ad personalization, personalization storage, Google Signals, user-provided data collection, and enhanced measurement remain disabled. MonsterInsights and OptinMonster remain inactive. The site does not use Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, or fingerprinting.
Selecting No thanks prevents the Google tag from loading. Changing an existing approval to No thanks disables future Analytics events from this site and removes the _ga and _ga_* cookies that this site can clear. A visitor may also clear cookies and site data in the browser. Google may already have received data sent while approval was active; withdrawing approval does not erase data already processed.

Hosting and essential site operations
The website is hosted by Bluehost and runs WordPress. Hosting, security, performance, and network infrastructure may process technical request information such as IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, browser identifiers, and error or security logs. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. Technical records may be retained for security, troubleshooting, backup, abuse prevention, and legal obligations according to the applicable provider configuration and policies.
The site currently uses the Bluehost integration plugin and Yoast SEO. Jetpack, MonsterInsights, and OptinMonster are installed but inactive as technically verified on August 25, 2026. This notice does not claim that hosting and active infrastructure collect nothing.
External methodology sources
The calculator links to methodology information published by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Opening those links takes the visitor to an external website governed by that site’s own privacy practices.
Contact and rights requests
No public contact form or lead-collection workflow is currently provided. The optional owner-review form is a moderated public-content submission form; it does not request contact details and cannot be used for a private reply. Questions, withdrawal requests for an identifiable submitted passage, or privacy requests may be sent to employee@bestheatpumpwaterheater.com. Depending on where a visitor lives, applicable law may provide rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or copies of personal information processed by site infrastructure. Requests will be evaluated under applicable law, and identity may need to be verified before a request is fulfilled.
Retention and deletion
The HPWH Consumer Platform plugin does not retain calculator inputs or results. Pending owner reports may remain in WordPress while they await moderation. Approved reports may remain public while they are relevant to the exact-model guide. Rejected, spam, withdrawn, or no-longer-relevant reports may be deleted; copies may remain temporarily in normal WordPress or hosting backups according to the applicable backup schedule. Because the form intentionally collects no reviewer identity or contact channel, a visitor requesting removal should identify the exact guide and quote enough of the submitted passage for the site to locate it without sending unnecessary personal information.
The Google Analytics property is configured for two-month event and user-data retention. First-party Analytics cookies may remain for up to two years unless the visitor withdraws approval or clears browser data; Google may refresh cookie expiration while approval remains active. The browser-local analytics choice remains until the visitor changes it or clears site data. Hosting logs, security data, WordPress operational data, backups, and other third-party service data may be retained according to operational need, legal obligations, provider policies, and configured backup schedules.
Changes
If the site later enables reviewer identities or profiles, contact forms, accounts, quote collection, advertising technology, personalization, additional Analytics events or fields, or other personal-data processing, this notice and the consent controls must be reviewed and updated before those features go live.
